Your Appointment Counseling and psychotherapy appointments are for 50 minutes. You’ll get the most from your session if you arrive on time. Please give me at least 24 hours notice if you need to change or cancel your appointment – otherwise, you will be charged for the session if I’m unable to fill the space with another client. This policy keeps time available for the greatest number of clients. Confidentiality: Notice of Information Practices I take your privacy very seriously. To help you understand issues regarding privacy, confidentiality and how information is handled, I’ve written a policy that you will be given at your first session with me. You can read a copy online by clicking here. If you have any questions regarding this, please ask me. About Fees and Insurance Payment may be made by cash or by check. If you have special needs, please ask me and I will do my best to accommodate you. I keep a limited number of reduced-fee spaces available in my practice to accommodate clients who would benefit from therapy, but who have limited income. I don't bill insurance companies directly or sit on provider panels, although many of my clients receive reimbursement from their insurance provider under provisions for an "out of network" provider. There are two primary reasons why I work this way:
You will want to contact your insurance company to see how they handle out-of-network mental health services. Policies vary, but the process is usually simple. I am happy to provide you with a statement of fees paid so you can submit a claim to your insurance provider. Questions, problems, etc.? One of my goals as your therapist is to help you be more powerful in your life. For that reason it’s important to me that you know that I welcome your questions about my policies and procedures. I pledge to you that I will listen thoroughly and do my best to resolve any problems that may come up during our work together. Feel free to email me or call my voicemail: (404) 874-8536. |
